The Okanagan College Library Catalogue lists books, ebooks, DVDs, streaming videos, and CDs that are in the Library collection. You can also search to see if the Library subscribes to a specific print or electronic journal by entering the title of the journal. However, you cannot use the catalogue to search for articles within the journals.
Click here for a brief tutorial on searching the catalogue and requesting items in the catalogue
After you have found a book in the catalogue or OCtopus, you need the following information to locate it:
Campus: If a book is not at your campus, you can request the book
Location: Where the book is found in the library (circulating, reference, on reserve)
Call Number: The call number on the spine is used to find the book on the shelf
Status: Available or checked out (you can request a hold for a checked out book)
Search for books in other library catalogues. Register for a UBC Library account at any Okanagan College campus library and you can request and renew UBC Library books via the UBC Library catalogue; use the online Interlibrary Loan request form for other libraries
Some examples of Library of Congress subject headings you can use to search for books in OCtopus or the Okanagan College Library catalogue (and other academic library catalogues):
