ACM/AIS Requires That You Possess Good Communications Skills

It is impossible for an IS professional to perform effectively in any organizational role without excellent oral and written communication skills. IS professionals work closely with colleagues in a variety of different organizational roles, and invariably, their job performance is partially dependent on their ability to communicate. Capabilities should include:

a. Listening, observing, interviewing, and analyzing archival materials

b. Writing memos, reports, and documentation

c. Using virtual collaboration tools (such as wikis, blogs, shared collaboration spaces,

d. Giving effective presentations.
