American College health Association (ACHA) - National College Health Assessment (NCHA) has tracked since 2000, changes in health issues and trends, enabling both ACHA and institutions of higher education to adequately identify factors affecting academic performance, respond to questions and concerns about the health of the nation’s students, develop a means to address these concerns, and ultimately improve the health and welfare of those students.
In 2011, a report commissioned by Canadian Association of College & University Student Service "Mental health and well-being in post-secondary education settings: A literature and environmental scan to support planning and action in Canada" identified that the U.S. is dealing with a similar situation and that the ACHA-NCHA II data, appears quite relevant similar across Ontario and the U.S.
