Introduction to Quizzes
Over the next three pages you will be tested on your knowledge of Library Policies and Procedures, as well as information specific to this Campus Library. The library has policies about Borrowing, Collections, Conduct, Confidentiality & Privacy, Donations & Gifts in Kind, Food & Drink, Guest Use of Computers, Interlibrary Loans and the Local Interest Collection.
These quizzes are very much open-book;
For each quiz, questions are presented to you on the right-hand tab (see above), and when you are ready answers can be found by navigating to the tab on the left.

Quiz A - Answers
1. If the fines/fees are over $20, no. They must resolve their fines/fees before signing out anything.
If their fines/fees are under $20 their account is not blocked and they can continue to sign out items.
EXCEPTION: If student owes fees for a laptop rental and they are asking to sign out a laptop overnight they cannot do that until the previous laptop rental fee has been paid.
2. No. They need to return the overdue item(s), or pay for it if it’s lost.
3. Yes, we can sign out periodicals. Follow instructions in Staff Binder for barcoding and entering into FOLIO.
4. One year from the current date.
5. They must be checked in in FOLIO and sensitized then placed on shelving cart.
6. Currently you can't print a receipt from FOLIO. They are working on an app for that and should be ready by Sept 2021. An option would be to do a print screen and then print it.
7. No. They must return the item. They can return the item and place a hold themselves so they will have another turn in two weeks when the item is returned.
8. AU/ELL: No, they cannot be renewed. If the student needs the same book again for the next semester they should bring the book in to be discharged and then sign it out to them again.
Course reserves: No, they cannot be renewed. Students can return the item and leave for specified period of time (usually 15 minutes) and then come back for the book if no one else has come to ask for it.
9. No, laptops cannot be renewed under normal circumstances. There are rare occasions when a student will call to say they cannot get their laptop back to the library before closing due to an unexpected emergency or illness. In these cases you would:
10. Hold requests serve as requests for books that are currently charged. Hold requests are not activated until the item is discharged.
Call slip requests are for items that are not charged. Typically used for items that are at another campus or in storage. These pop up automatically in the receipt printer.

13. Yes, they can, but not online like with our collection. They need to contact the ILL department either by phone or email listed on yellow ILL slip on cover of book. The ILL department will contact the lending library and request a renewal. The ILL department will then contact the patron.

16. 6 times. After that the patron needs to return the item and then we can sign it out fresh if they still need the item. Then they’ll get another 6 renewals.
