Physical Literacy Assessment for Youth (PLAY) Tools

PLAY Tools
PLAY stands for Physical Literacy Assessment for Youth. It's a series of physical literacy assessment tools that were developed by Sport for Life Society to determine the level of an individual's physical literacy.

The PLAY tools were created by Dr. Dean Kriellaars, of the University of Manitoba, for Sport for Life Society.

PLAY comprises a suite of tools:
PLAYfun
an assessment of key movement skills performed by the child, made up of 18 tasks.
PLAYself
a self-evaluation form used by a child to determine their perception of their physical literacy.
PLAYbasic
assessment of key movement skills performed by the child, made up of five tasks.
PLAYcoach
a form used by professionals to determine their perception of a child’s level of physical literacy.
PLAYparent
a form used by a parent to determine their perception of their child’s level of physical literacy.
PLAYinventory
helps you keep track of the leisure-time activites that a child has regularly participated in.

Canadian Assessment of Physical Literacy (CAPL)

Passport for Life - fitness skills and assessment components
Passport for Life supports the awareness, assessment, development and advancement of physical literacy among students and teachers. The four components of physical literacy that the Passport assesses are Active Participation, Living Skills, Fitness Skills and Movement Skills.
