The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation that aims to contribute to the improvement of the health of Canadians and the health care system by disseminating quality health information.

Quick Stats
Quick Stats are a series of free, publicly available, at-a-glance reports on our website. They provide aggregate-level health system data from a variety of data sources. Depending on your needs, you can view this data in two different ways:

An interactive format that lets you manipulate how you see the information. Choose from specific time frames, diagnosis groups, hospital types, etc. Here is a short video on how to understand and use these reports.
A static format, with information in tables that are easy to print.
Health Indicators Interactive Tool
An indicator is a single measure (usually expressed in quantitative terms) that captures a key dimension of health, such as how many people suffer from chronic disease or have had a heart attack. Indicators also capture various determinants of health, such as income, or key dimensions of the health care system, such as how often patients return to hospital for more care after they are treated.
Patient Cost Estimator
The Patient Cost Estimator is an interactive tool developed by CIHI to estimate the average cost of various services provided in hospitals. This new tool provides information nationally, by jurisdiction and by patient age group. The cost estimates represent the estimated average cost of services provided to
the average patient. They include the costs incurred by the hospital in providing services and exclude physician fees, since physicians are normally paid directly by the jurisdiction and not by the hospital.

Health Profile
Publicly accessible online database with health region data from a number of sources including Statistics Canada's health surveys, administrative data, and the census of population. Not updated anymore.
Statistics Canada Data
A simplified version of Statistic's Canada data products containing tables, regional profiles, maps, microdata, and visualizations. Users can search by keyword, and filter or browse by subject, geography, and survey or statistical program. Contains the former CANSIM - old CANSIM table numbers can be used to search (e.g. 111-0008)
