Here are some subject terms that might be helpful when searching the library:

Subject headings are assigned to books, journal articles, and other sources by cataloguers to help people find these sources more easily. This gives more accurate results than searching by keywords, or user-generated terms. In OCtopus Advanced Search, select SU Subject Terms in select a field, and enter your subject heading.

• Take notes of where you are finding information: this will be helpful when you are citing your sources.
• Check the references of a useful resource: these sources might be useful for you.
• When using websites, evaluate carefully to make sure they are reliable. Check out the evaluating your sources tab above.
• Truncation: finish a word with an asterisk ( * ) to fill out word endings
  • manag* finds manager, manage, management, managing...
• Use limiters/filters, found in many databases, to limit your results by type of resource, date, or availability
