Think tanks, or research or policy institutes, are "groups of experts who provide advice and ideas on political, social or economic issues" (Oxford Learner's Dictionary). They can be useful resources for finding public policy information.
They may be NGOs, affiliated with governments or other organizations, non-partisan, or affiliated with specific political parties. When evaluating information from think tanks, consider the following: who is on the board, how are they funded, what are the political leanings, and are there conflicts of interest (Evaluating think tanks)?
