OCtopus is the name of the search tool you can use to find research and reference sources in the library. Generally speaking, it is best to keep your searches basic rather than type out an entire research question. Please see below for examples of search terms and phrases that you can use in OCtopus that are most likely to return results related to your research.
After you have found a book or DVD in OCtopus, you need the following information to locate it:
Campus: If a book or DVD is not at your campus, you can request the item
Location: Where the book or DVD is found in the library (circulating, reference, on reserve, on display, video)
Call Number: The call number on the spine is used to find the book or DVD on the shelf
Status: Available or checked out (you can place a hold on a book or DVD that is checked out)
