Canada's Census of Agriculture mapping application displays the Census of Agriculture data using the geographic boundary of the Census consolidated subdivision (CCS). These data provide a comprehensive picture of the agriculture industry across Canada every five years at the national, provincial and sub-provincial levels.

The Agri-Environmental Spatial Data (AESD) product from the Census of Agriculture provides a large selection of farm-level variables from the Census of Agriculture and uses alternative data sources to improve the spatial distribution of the production activities. Therefore, the AESD database offers clients the possibility to better analyze the impact of agriculture activities on the environment and produce key indicators, or for any applications where accurate location of activities matters.

This interactive map presents the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) annual crop inventory data for the 2009 to current crop years. This data allows landowners, decision-makers, and the general public to observe and interrogate the crop inventory across Canada.

The Canadian Crop Metrics application allows users to look at specific regions and generate reports, graphs and tables to compare current conditions to historical conditions for 11 different crop types. Weather data is updated regularly and yield estimates are updated monthly from July to October.

This map shows the spatial densities of major crop (Cereals, Barley, Corn, Canola, and Soybean) cultivation in Canada. Various mapping, modeling and reporting activities require knowing where certain crops are more expected than others within the agricultural regions of Canada. Spatial density of crops, as provided in these datasets, specify within the related time frame (2009-2023) in which regions a certain crop is more expected. Regions of high density represent higher temporal and spatial frequency of a certain crop within 2009-2023 time frame in the Prairies provinces and 2011-2023 for other regions of Canada.

Publisher in 2023, this report provides a detailed analysis of animal agriculture in Canada. Animal agriculture in Canada is a complex, interrelated, and dynamic system that defies simple metrics. Through
consultations with stakeholders and a White Paper process, the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute (CAPI) was
able to delve deeper into the animal agriculture value chain and system in Canada, developing a broad overview
as well as a description of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats it faces.

Ten percent of Canada's greenhouse gas emissions are from crop and livestock production, excluding emissions from the use of fossil fuels or from fertilizer production.

The National Ecological Framework provides a consistent, national spatial context within which ecosystems at various levels of generalization can be described, monitored, and reported on. The use of such a framework of standard ecological units provides for common communication and reporting between different jurisdictions and disciplines, and provides a common ground to report on the state of the environment and the sustainability of ecosystems in Canada.
