Welcome!

This guide has been created primarily for the use of students in BUAD 293 to aid the completion of the term project. The outline for the project provides you with the complete requirements. Navigate through the tabs above to find and explore library resources and other information.

The intent of this guide is not to show you all the resources that may be used. Rather, this guide will help you identify some quality resources and provide some direction for your library research.

This guide can be used in conjunction with other BUAD course and subject guides.

Business Plan

What is a Business Plan?

"A detailed plan setting out the objectives of a business over a stated period, often three, five, or ten years. A business plan is drawn up by many businesses, especially if the business has passed through a bad period or if it has had a major change of policy.

For new businesses it is an essential document for raising capital or loans. The plan should quantify as many of the objectives as possible, providing monthly cash flows and production figures for at least the first two years, with diminishing detail in subsequent years; it must also outline its strategy and the tactics it intends to use in achieving its objectives."

"Business plan." (2009). In Jonathan Law (Ed.), A Dictionary of Business and Management. Retrieved from http://www.oxfordreference.com/pages/Subjects_and_Titles__2F_0266>
