Other distribution of your course materials without copyright permission – for example, distributing materials by e-mail – may also be an instance of copyright infringement.

Student materials (assignments, presentations, etc.)

The Copyright Act specifies that “every original literary, dramatic, musical and artistic work” is protected by copyright and this includes student work. This means that your permission is required in order for an instructor or school to share a copy of your work with future students or use in marketing material.

Recording Lectures

Recording video and/or audio of your class lectures without permission from your instructor is not allowed. Students who require an accommodation involving recorded lectures should contact OC Accessibility Services.

If you do have recordings from your class lectures, it is not permitted for you to post those recordings online or to distribute the recordings to other people unless you have permission from your instructor to do so.
