Test Environment

The test environment allows us to use a copy of our own data for training and testing purposes without impacting day-to-day FOLIO functions in the live environment.

When using the test environment, please adhere to these best practices.

  • Do not log-in to both the live instance of FOLIO and the test environment simultaneously, as they are nearly indistinguishable (except for the "test" in the URL, and test environment has an OC logo while live environment has an octopus logo in the tab). Please log-out of the live instance of FOLIO before using the test environment and/or open a separate private-browsing tab which should prompt you to log in.
  • Data in the test environment is refreshed with data from live environment before deployment of new releases so it's not exact the same set as in live environment, which is refreshed daily. Settings may also be different as we might be doing all sorts of testing and changing things. Both data and settings are subject to change with little to no warning, either due to new releases / hotfixes being applied by EBSCO, or in the event we catastrophically break things and need to restore from a back-up.
  • Solutions that work in the test environment should be discussed with a supervisor/CWG/LMC as appropriate, and recreated in the live instance on an ongoing basis.

Login credentials are the same as for the live instance of FOLIO.

Any questions about using the test environment can be directed to the Systems and Data Services Librarian.

As of April 28, 2023, test environment is loaded with data from production on April 27, 2023.
