Upcoming release date

The FOLIO community continues to improve features and functionalities on its platform. Three releases are issued each year.

Orchid (R1 2023) is scheduled to be deployed June 12-16, 2023 on OC's live site. The new version will first be deployed on our test site May 8-19 2023. Specific date will be announced when more information is available. Please refer to the section below for changes in specific functional areas and to try out the new version and report any issues or concerns during the testing period.

Important changes

Change in Google Chrome -- This will affect everyone

Some versions of Chrome now appear to consider some FOLIO installations to be "progressive web apps." When that happens, Chrome prompts you to install FOLIO to your desktop (you don't need to), with an option in the Chrome menu or in the address bar. (see graph in the release note)

As of April 2023, this has been observed for some users using Nolana environments, and some users using Orchid environments.

There is no feasible way to disable the message from appearing, however, end-users can safely ignore the message when they see it. You do not need to install anything extra outside of the Chrome browser to get FOLIO to work as it has been working.

Please refer to the detailed release note (new window) for changes that will affect the functional areas you use.

What's our current version?

Version information can be found in the Settings App -> System information -> Software versions. On the top-left corner of the main window is the version name of the current version.
