Off Campus Access

The library licenses the OC Library's online resources for students, faculty, and staff. These resources require that you access them from the OC Library website, which has built-in authentication when you are on campus. When you are off-campus, you need to authenticate, using your myOkanagan username and password.

To access the Library Collection from Off Campus on the Library Webpage, click the Login link in the bottom right-hand corner of the OCtopus Search (see Image 1). The system will then prompt you to enter the standard OC credentials used for the OC Network.

If you search without logging into the OCtopus system from off-campus, you will be prompted with a message to log in that appears as the top banner on the OCtopus webpage  (see Image below).

When you search on the Web you will encounter information that is behind paywalls. Do not pay for access to such information. Contact Taryn, Gilbert or use the Library's Inter Library Loan service to obtain access for free.
