POLI 101 Introduction to Politics

Demographic Data

Demographic Data is comprised of a variety of socioeconomic information, including the breakdown of a population by gender, age, ethnicity, income, employment status, homeownership, and even internet access. Demographics offer a generalization of a particular geography’s population, based either on a Census or a sampling of people in that geography by a survey. Of course, not everyone fits a given demographic profile, as demographics only provide an aggregate picture of a population.
