Auxiliary Circulation Work Guide

Welcome!

Welcome to Circulation!

This guide has been created to introduce you to common aspects of working the Circulation Desk. As you read through the guide, be sure to navigate through the tabs on the side and top of each page to find specific information on circulation duties, details on what materials are found on the 3rd floor, as well as three in-depth quizzes to help you on your way.

Circulation can be a very demanding job: students and employees expect you to know everything, and often, especially as an auxiliary, you don't.  The circulation staff are always around as back up and can help you with most of your questions. And if they can't, they will know how to find someone who can.

The Procedures Manual (pictured to the right) is kept current
and located on the shelf behind the circulation desk.  Feel free
to reference it anytime.

Parking passes are applied for through myOkanagan and picked up at Facilities.  Parking spots can be hard to find depending on when your shift starts. Overflow parking is at the Evangel Church on Gordon.

Charge and wear your Salto card and name tag every shift. The Salto card will give you access to open study rooms and L203 classroom, and tapping it on the side reader of the photocopier/printer/scanner, will log you in.
