Course Resource Lists with Talis Aspire

Introduction to OC's Online Resource List Software

Getting Started

Contact a librarian to request system access

  • Your first step will be creating a profile on the Talis website. Enter your MyOkanagan credentials to log in.
  • Once logged in, you will be directed back to the Talis page. Click 'Create a Profile' and enter your details. Be sure to use your Okanagan College e-mail address in the creation of your profile
  • Save your profile
  • Contact the liaison librarian in your department area to request permission to create and publish lists

Accept e-mailed invitation

  • Once your profile has been reviewed by a librarian, you will receive an e-mail. This is not spam!
  • The message will indicate your role as a “List Publisher," which will allow you to create, edit, and publish lists
  • Click the link in the e-mail to accept the invitation to use digital resource lists

Ask a librarian to build an online list for you!

  • Send your liaison librarian the resource list from your syllabus or course outline and ask them to create an online list using our new Online Resource List Request form
  • Once established, you are free to add, delete, or rearrange items from your list at any time (see instructions in other sections of this library guide for more information about working with lists)

Didn't get an email invitation? Follow these instructions

  • Go to Talis website and click Log In
  • Enter your MyOkanagan credentials
  • After logging-in, you will be directed back to Talis. From there click your name and select View Profile
  • Click the My Invites tab and accept List Publisher

Add Bookmarklet

  • The Bookmarklet is a tool that you can install in your browser that enables you to save the details of resources you wish to incorporate in your resource list
  • To install the Bookmarklet, go to the Talis Website
  • Click on My Bookmarks from the menu
  • On the right hand side of the screen, click the link for Install Bookmark Button
  • Follow the instructions for installing the bookmark button as presented. This involves clicking and dragging the Add to my Bookmarks icon onto the bookmark bar of your browser
  • Once installed, you can click the Bookmarklet tool whenever you find a resource you would like to save to review later or include as part of one or more lists
